BRISBANE, Australia — After years of rebuilding, Let's Play Games is proud to bring something special to Australia and New Zealand: our first Magic Spotlight Series event on August 28–30, 2026.
The Magic Spotlight Series features open tournaments with $50,000 prize pools and is one of the biggest events in competitive Magic. For the first time, ANZ players won't need to travel overseas to compete at this level.
"We're thrilled to bring the Magic Spotlight Series to the ANZ region," said Glenn Doyle, Tournament Organiser of ANZ MTG Superseries. "This represents our commitment to elevating competitive Magic in Australia and New Zealand, providing our community with world-class tournament experiences and opportunities to compete on the global stage."
The August 2026 event will feature:
- Two-day open tournament format with substantial prize pool
- Pro Tour invitations for top performers
- Live coverage and streaming for global audiences
- Side events for Magic fans of all skill levels
A message from Glenn Doyle, Tournament Organiser of ANZ MTG Superseries
I am incredibly excited to bring Magic Spotlight: The Hobbit™ to Brisbane from August 28–30, 2026. This is the culmination of several years of work to rebuild our resources and bring back world-class Magic: The Gathering events.
Since the beginning of the ANZ Super Series program, our goal has been to bring players together to celebrate the game we love. We've worked hard to rebuild the structures lost during the pandemic and are now ready to take this major step.
We are also really pleased to showcase the wonderful city of Brisbane and hold the event at the world-class Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The Brisbane Spotlight event will be one of the biggest Magic: The Gathering events Australia and New Zealand has ever seen.
We look forward to sharing this with you all. Prepare yourselves for a truly magical weekend!
